Spanierman Gallery, LLC is pleased to announce the opening on June 29, 2006 of Pamela Sztybel: Lost Ponds, Hidden Rivers. This exhibition and sale presents twenty-four new landscapes in oil by Pamela Sztybel. Water is present as a theme in most of these images—based on sites in Long Island, New England, and France—but its presence is suggested and often seems almost subliminal, evoking its effect than its specific appearance. The works reveal Sztybel’s continued exploration of how qualities of land, water, atmosphere, and sky often form unexpected totalities and strike emotive chords within us that cannot be easily described.
